Barack Obama Mocks John McCain

September 17, 2008

After running a brilliant and historic primary battle to defeat Hillary Clinton, the Obama campaign is now in disarray.

Now, facing John McCain’s blistering ads, Obama has resorted to longshot false ads with ridiculous statements.

Nonetheless, the Obama campaign has vowed, once again, to take the gloves off and go after McCain hard, linking him to President Bush and highlighting the fact that the Arizona senator is out of touch.

Feeling the heat and being behind in the polls this week Obama has realeased a new ad to air in key states.

What’s new is the charge of computer illiteracy and the blatant attempt to attack McCain as too old for the job and that speaks volumes.

The problem with this ad? It is a flat out lie.

In 2000, Forbes magazine called him the “Senate’s savviest technologist.” That same year, Slate’s Jacob Weisberg gushed that McCain was the most “cybersavvy” of all the presidential candidates that year, a crop that included none other than Al Gore. Being chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, Weisberg explained, “forced him to learn about the Internet early on, and young Web entrepreneurs such as Jerry Yang and Jeff Bezos fascinate him.”

Weisberg, an Obama booster, now disingenuously mocks McCain as “flummoxed by that newfangled doodad, the personal computer.”

This line right here is the biggest mistake Barack Obama has ever made and I think it will cost him the election.

“He admits he still doesn’t know how to use a computer, can’t send an e-mail,

Why?
The reason McCain is not versed in the mechanical details of sending e-mail and typing on a keyboard is that the North Vietnamese broke his fingers and shattered both of his arms. As Forbes, Slate and the Boston Globe reported in 2000, McCain’s injuries make using a keyboard painfully laborious. He mostly relies on his wife and staff to show him e-mails and websites.

If the Obama campaign did not intend to mock a disabled veteran, what does it say about his supposedly “cybersavvy” campaign that they don’t know how to conduct a five-minute Google search to find out these things?

Rookie mistakes by rookie canidates are expected but Barack Obama has just mocked a war hero and a veteran for his disability that he obtained by fighting for this nation.

This story hasn’t yet hit the major media outlets, they will try to ignore it, but “We the Bloggers” will not be ignored.
I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.

  1. This is the ad I continually pointed to when the big media outlets were saying that McCain was running a sleazy campaign.

Smears were coming from BOTH sides of the aisle and there’s just no need for that.

  2. 1) sorry mccain is a pow
    2) just because he’s a pow, doesn’t mean he should be president
    3) you sight forbes magazine, a magazine about billionaires
    4) obama wasn’t mocking him based on his disability, it was based things john mccain said
    5) that ad is true, john mccain said all of those things, whether he meant them or not, they came out of his mouth
    6) john mccain gets more media coverage

  3. I cannot believe you manastojones have drank enough of the koolaid as to defend this commercial.

Barack is running scared and losing his judgement. The people that have invested millions to get him where he is are now seeing their investment go up in smoke.

An invisible elite that will stop at nothing to get their guy in. After all, Barack can’t use billions in our money to pay them back if he doesn’t win.
